Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an American-born British sitar player and music artist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and the first female to receive it. In addition to receiving nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the very first Indian-origin musician to be a presenter and performer during the ceremony live. Anoushka Shankar is one of the rising stars of India's sitar. She is a student as well as sister of Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was in London in 1982 and was a young girl who travelled between London as well as New Delhi. The first time she performed was in New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. In 1999, she completed her high school studies in Encinitas CA. Even though she's very young, Anouskha has an impressive performing and recording. Her father has been with her in many performances for several years. In 1998 she released her first solo album Anourag. The following year, she released the Grammy nominated Live in Carnegie Hall. She has performed at most major venues around the globe. Anoushka Shakar's work is not just limited to music. Bapi: The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 book, which was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In addition, she has appeared in a number of films. In 2003, she was in the movie Dance Like a Man where she is an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka continues to grow in her career and we can expect many other things to be expected from this talented woman. Anoushka was born in England and spent a lot of her youth in between London as well as Delhi. Then she moved to California and attended the high school there. In Delhi during his birthday celebrations for his 75th birthday, Anoushka made her debut performing the sitar in front of an audience just four years after her 9-year-old father. Anoushka was able to gain many valuable experiences by accompanying her dad when he toured the world. It included performances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival in addition to making recordings with George Harrison. She was the youngest and sole female to receive the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament for her talent and musical ability as a preeminent musician of in the Asian Arts.
