Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, also referred to as Ashanti was born on the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She is a singer, songwriter from America and actor. Ashanti's talent was first discovered when she was a teenager. She signed with Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. The same year, she was featured in The Fat Joe's What's Luv? song and Ja Rule's Always on Time track, both of which were huge hits. The first ever female to reach the Billboard Hot 100's top two positions within the United States, with Foolish on number one and What's Luv? What's Luv?
